Multicam Film

Image
Some of the clips are off and my group either didn't have some of the audio to match some of the clips or I just didn't receive them. The audio is mismatched a bit but I think it lines up with lips close enough.

Multicam Editing

There was a problem with the audio due to the ripple edit tool. I could not find a solution but it should still work.

Film Critique Reflection (March 2019)

Image
(I was unable to edit the film, so I'm using my classmate Eamonn's edit) Examine the comments you received on your film. We were told that the acting was really well done, most of the jokes landed, and our handheld camera scenes were well done. Reflect on what you feel you did best I think our intro scene was the best part of the film, and most of the class agreed. The cinematography was at it's peak, the music fit perfectly, and the flow made sense. Reflect on what your classmates said you did well. I felt my acting was definitely the weakest of the group and was really poor, however the rest of my group did a fantastic job and were very believable. Reflect on what you feel you need to improve on. We had some scenes where our lighting could have been better, especially in the storage closet. On top of that, our cinematography was weak in some scenes. Reflect on what your classmates suggested you improve on. Again, the main complaint ...

Advanced Camera Movements Investigation

Image
Crane Footage For my example of crane movement I'd show a person exiting a classroom. Slider Footage For my example of slider movement I'd go down a row of people working on homework or something of that same sense. Wide Aperture Footage For my example of a wide aperture shot I'd isolate a person in a crowd in one of the classrooms.

Inglourious Basterds Review

“Inglourious Basterds.”  Reddit , Mar. 2018, www.reddit.com/r/moviescirclejerk/comments/87vzso/in_the_movie_inglourious_basterds_the_phrase/. What is a Spaghetti Western? The Google definition, as asked, is  a movie about the American Old West made cheaply in Europe, typically by an Italian producer and director. Why would Tarantino use this genre for a WW2 movie? It doesn't seem like it would fit in this sort of movie, however it does. The powerful music deepens the experience and adds to each scene. The extra dramatic effect when someone is shot somehow doesn't feel out of place and does go with the propaganda-esque nature of the film. The suspense built when a powerful new character is introduced like in Django helps to show who holds the power in every scene. I think my favorite character pushed forward with the elements of the Spaghetti Western is Colonel Hans Landa. The deep orchestra that comes with his appearance in most scenes, especially the restaurant...

Class Reverse Engineering Film Critique Reflection

Examine the comments you received on your film. Our classmates really liked the place we chose to shoot our film and really liked how accurate our shots were. Reflect on what you feel you did best. I think the thing we did best was our music. My group mates did a really good job creating music that matched the same tones that the scene in Back To The Future was trying to set. Reflect on what your classmates said you did well. I think the place we chose really was the perfect place, at least within the school. Our shots were done really well, and the music was absolutely fantastic and well done. Finally, write a statement on your strengths and weaknesses and formulate a plan for what to focus on during future projects. We could do a better job at pacing our shots. When I went through to edit a lot of our shots felt rushed and didn't deliver the same effect as the movie did because of it. We also had a problem of one of our members looking at the camera a lot and actuall...

Select Your Genre

Mafioso, Mr. “Mafioso.”  Askmen , me.askmen.com/mr-mafioso/914015/article/mafioso-25-rules-of-wisdom. The genre I'm most interested in is the gangster genre. I believe this spans from having a heavy interest in organized crime last year. It was a very fascinating topic to read about and watch movies of, even though I could never in a million years commit the immoral actions these men do. I think this makes me no different then most of the general population, but I think it also makes me curious. For the job that I want in the future I'd essentially be studying human behavior, and I think the most interesting thing about these movies is just why they do the things they do. What drives them, whether it be family, money, or just simply a power trip. The other great thing is that one way or another things do not end up succeeding for the bad guys, but we somehow feel sorrow for them because the directors often make us feel positive emotions for criminals. My immediate tho...
